Two Canadian lottery players score $1,000 a day for life

Two lucky Quebec lottery players are set for life after scoring major lottery prizes.

Montreal resident Sylvain Leclerc and Abitibi-Témiscamingue resident Martin Gauthier have fun plans with their lifetime wins.

Gauthier decided to buy his lucky Grand Vie lottery ticket for the Sept. 11 draw while running an errand at Boni-Soir, also known as Dépanneur Chez Steph, in Normétal.

He asked the clerk to print the results so he could check his ticket, and he immediately recognized the numbers he’d played.

The thirtysomething plans to use his grand prize of $1,000 a day for life to treat himself to an all-terrain vehicle.

Leclerc discovered he’d won $1,000 a day for life in the Aug. 28 Grand Vie draw while checking his lottery ticket on the Loto-Québec app.

His spouse was the first person to hear of the amazing win, but he did take a moment before the call to shed a few tears of joy.

With his lifetime lottery prize, Leclerc plans to buy a house and fulfil a promise dear to his heart: attend a relative’s wedding in the Caribbean.

He bought his winning ticket at the Jean Coutu pharmacy on Rue Victoria in Lachine.
