Seattle Seahawks rule out 1 key defender, 3 doubtful vs Jags

Once again, the Seattle Seahawks will likely be without several key defensive players for their Week 6 road matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.

The Seahawks listed two-time Pro Bowl cornerback Devon Witherspoon (knee), veteran safety Julian Love (hamstring) and cornerback Riq Woolen (concussion) as doubtful on their injury report Friday. All three were limited in Friday’s practice.
And as expected, Seattle ruled out edge rusher Derick Hall (oblique) and offensive tackle Josh Jones (ankle).
One piece of good news: Linebacker Ernest Jones IV (shoulder) doesn’t have a game status designation and was listed as a full participant in Friday’s practice after being limited on Thursday.
Also, four-time Pro Bowl defensive end Demarcus Lawrence is set to return after missing Sunday’s loss with a quad injury that he suffered in Seattle’s Week 4 win over the Arizona Cardinals. He doesn’t carry a game status designation and was a full participant in practice Thursday and Friday.
Witherspoon has missed three of Seattle’s first five games this season due to his knee injury. He was sidelined for Weeks 2 and 3, then returned to play every defensive snap in Week 4 before this past Sunday’s loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Love missed Week 3, then returned to play every defensive snap in Week 4 before missing Sunday’s loss to the Buccaneers
Woolen exited Sunday’s game with a concussion.
Hall got hurt in Sunday’s loss and is “week to week,” Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald said on Monday.
Josh Jones, the Seahawks’ top backup at offensive tackle, is out for a third straight week.
