Deebo Samuel’s girlfriend is rapper and songwriter with huge social media following

Deebo Samuel is known across the NFL for the physical, punishing style that made him one of the league’s most versatile playmakers.

But away from the field, the Washington Commanders wide receiver shares his life with someone who has built her own following and creative identity: Mahogany Jones, a rapper, songwriter, influencer, and entrepreneur with a major social-media presence.

Samuel and Jones began dating in 2019, the same year he entered the NFL as a second-round pick of the San Francisco 49ers, who had  a star receiver shot in the last year recently open up about his PTSD.

As Samuel carved out a reputation as one of the league’s most dynamic offensive weapons, Jones was building a brand of her own. She launched a clothing line called Shades of Mahogany shortly after graduating from North Carolina A&T, showcasing her modeling, design instincts, and personal style.

Even after the brand went inactive, she carried that momentum forward, expanding into fashion influencing, songwriting and rap, and later real-estate work in North Carolina. Today, she regularly shares music previews, behind-the-scenes content, and family moments with a combined audience of hundreds of thousands across social platforms.

Their relationship deepened in 2021 with the arrival of their son, Tyshun Raequan Samuel Jr. Jones frequently posts videos celebrating their family, including date-night clips, gameday rituals, and heartfelt messages from Samuel.

Fans were moved by one especially viral moment: a handwritten note Samuel gave her that said, “Mahogany, you are my happy place. I love you so much.” Jones has also spoken openly about how Samuel’s excitement about fatherhood calmed her nerves during pregnancy, revealing in a documentary that he was “so excited” and immediately dreamed of raising “a little Deebo.”

Now with Washington after a 2025 offseason trade, Samuel continues leaning on Jones as a constant source of support. Jones attends games with their son, often capturing the emotional swings of each matchup.

Samuel, meanwhile, calls Tyshun his “good luck charm,” a theme that Jones echoed when she shared that her son never wants to go to anyone but Deebo the moment he steps off the field.

On the field, Samuel remains one of the Commanders’ most productive and reliable weapons. Through Week 11, he has totaled 53 receptions for 470 yards, averaged 8.9 yards per catch, scored five receiving touchdowns, and added 52 rushing yards as Washington continues to lean on his versatility.

His best performance of the season came against the Chargers, when he caught eight passes for 96 yards and a touchdown. Whether lined up in the slot, out wide, or in the backfield, Samuel continues to deliver the same hard-charging style that made him a star in San Francisco.
