Philadelphia Eagles at Minnesota Vikings preview

Both teams have issues heading into what looks an attractive NFC game and it could result in a relatively low-scoring game in Minneapolis.

Super Bowl champions Philadelphia won their first four games this season but questions are now being asked of them after back-to-back losses to Denver and the New York Giants. Meanwhile, the Vikings have had a week off since winning in London but it is has not been enough time for quarterback JJ McCarthy to fully recover from an ankle injury so the more experienced Carson Wentz will make another start after recovering from a shoulder problem.

The Vikings lost 24-21 to the Steelers in Dublin before scoring on their last drive to beat the Browns 21-17 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. They have scored 21 or fewer points in three of their five games but their defence ranks sixth in the league in yards conceded per game and will be facing an Eagles offence ranked 30th in the NFL in yards per game.

The Vikings are not defending the run as well as they did last season, which is a worry for their fans with Saquon Barkley coming to town, but this contest could lack explosive plays and points look unlikely to pile up.
