High winds cause power outages

Gusting winds are causing power outages across much of the province but in the Quinte region the lights were working in most homes and businesses as of 6 a.m. Thursday.

There were a few  small outages around Brighton, Rednersville Road and North Beach in the county, and the village of Hastings in Trent Hills.

There was one large power outage, running from Colborne up to Roseneath in Northumberland County affecting 3,700 customers.

Province-wide, Hydro One was dealing with 136 outages affecting almost 11,000 customers.
