Casemiro, the Brazilian national team midfielder, received an early yellow card during the match against Japan, held as part of the round of 32 in the 2026 World Cup.
Casemiro’s warning came in the 15th minute of the match, after the referee showed the yellow card to the Seleção’s midfielder.
The statistics network ‘Opta’ reported that this card is the fifth Casemiro has received in his World Cup participation history, making him the third most warned player in the tournament’s history.
Only the Argentine Javier Mascherano and the Brazilian Cafu have received more yellow cards in World Cup history than Casemiro.
