Here’s Why Millie Bobby Brown and Noah Schnapp Skipped Finn Wolfhard’s ‘SNL’ Debut

  • The fifth and final season of Stranger Things hit Netflix late last year.

  • Finn Wolfhard, who played Mike Wheeler on the fan-favorite series, made his hosting debut on Saturday Night Live on Jan. 17.

  • His castmates and IRL close friends, Gaten Matarazzo and Caleb McLaughlin, made surprise appearances during his monologue and sketches. But where were Millie Bobby Brown and Noah Schnapp?

Finn Wolfhard has officially completed his first project after Stranger Things wrapped late last year—and it just so happened to be a sweet hosting gig on Saturday Night Live.

Of course, the actor and musician showed love to the fan-favorite Netflix series that cast him in his breakout role, Mike Wheeler. Finn’s castmates and IRL close friends, Gaten Matarazzo and Caleb McLaughlin, also made surprise appearances during his monologue and a Stranger Things-inspired sketch. Though the moment was instantly iconic, fans noticed that Millie Bobby Brown and Noah Schnapp were noticeably absent from SNL. So, where were they?

Not to worry—it’s all love between the OG Hawkins heroes. There were just some scheduling conflicts that kept Noah and Millie away from Studio 8H. The day before Finn’s SNL debut, Noah attended Ralph Lauren’s Menswear Fall/Winter 2026 fashion show at Milan Fashion Week on Friday, January 16.

MBB was also overseas for the 2026 Joy Awards in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where she was honored with the Personality of the Year award.

“Ever since I was a little girl, I knew I wanted to be in the creative world,” she said during her acceptance speech. “Pursuing creativity and becoming an actor at eight years old wasn’t a dream I chased on my own. It was encouraged and supported by my parents, who never doubted me for a second.”

She seemed to acknowledge her Stranger Things castmates when she later added, “I hope I can encourage young people to honor themselves, take care of themselves, love themselves, and never be afraid to take that leap of faith. Love your family or your chosen family, meet new friends, hug the people who love and support you for exactly who you are.”

While Mills and Noah couldn’t make it, Finn’s other castmates showed support at the SNL after-party, which went down at L’Avenue at Saks in NYC.

Gaten, Caleb, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, and the Duffer Brothers were all in attendance, per photos published by DeuxMoi. Sabrina Carpenter, who returned for the “Snack Homiez” sketch alongside Finn and musical guest A$AP Rocky (and sparked dating rumors with Joe/Djo last summer), also pulled up to the after-party.
