Maxx Crosby Shares What Knocked Him Out in Week 7 Against the Chiefs

Maxx Crosby has been at the center of trade rumors for a few weeks, but that storyline was put to rest on Tuesday and won’t be back again until the offseason.
Crosby talked this week on his podcast about some of the challenges he has faced this year, with the most recent being a back and knee injury that sidelined him in week 7 against the Kansas City Chiefs.
According to Crosby, he started the game with a bothersome back situation and was knocked out of the game completely by a low block to his knee.
From Crosby on The Rush…
“These last two weeks have been tough. Kansas City, I mean, we go out, practice on a Friday, right before Kansas City. I haven’t had a back problem, you know, nothing with my back in long f—ing time. And just kind of doing a drill, literally got my sh– locked up and it was unfortunate. Super random.
[It’s] just part of the game, but it just made me focus on getting everything even more dialed in. But it was sh—y, you know, you’re going on the road, you’re excited about to go play Kansas City and then boom, I get hurt on Friday.
I go into the game and I’m trying to go, and I literally can’t go. I did everything I could. I shot it up, tried everything in my power to go out there and try to play versus KC and I wasn’t able to do that at my level at all. And then got chop blocked in my knee, so it was just like a double whammy. So these last two weeks I’ve really been just… I’ve been off the grid, really just locked in. I’m getting my body right and getting healthy.”
Crosby also discussed the Raiders week 9 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
He said he started the game slow, but felt better as the game progressed…
“I was a little rusty, you know, at first. I feel like just not being able to practice the last few, basically for two weeks… I was able to go out there and as the game went on, I started feeling like myself and went out there and did everything I could to try to help our team win.”
Crosby’s knee and back will now travel to Denver and play a Thursday night game on short rest.
The Raiders are currently heavy underdogs to the Broncos (-9) but are as healthy as they have been since the first week of the season when they beat the now 7-2 New England Patriots on the road.
