Pete Wicks has explained what one fan described as an “aggressive” kiss with Strictly Come Dancing professional Jowita Przystal. During a recent episode of the Staying Relevant podcast with co-host and mate Sam Thompson, Pete addressed his passionate on-stage snog with his former Strictly dance partner at London’s O2 Arena.
The Only Way Is Essex star read out a message from a fan called Kyla, who praised the O2 performance as “great” but admitted feeling “slightly traumatised” after her 82-year-old grandmother’s response to the steamy scenes.
She then explained that her nan has always thought of Pete as attractive, and, having been shown Pete and Jowita’s dance on TikTok, she shared a surprisingly candid wish.
Reading Kyla’s email aloud, Pete said: “‘Her response, ‘Why can’t he be that aggressive with me? I would love to be kissed like that by Mr Peter Wicks’. I know you speak about MILFS, but maybe this is one step further’.”

Responding to the grandmother’s wishes, Pete insisted that age is “nothing but a number”, though he admitted that if he were truly “aggressive” with her nan, he might “break her” or even “snap her like a wishbone”. He suggested she would, nevertheless, “die happy”.
Pete subsequently remarked it was “nice” to attract fans across different generations and expressed his delight that she had enjoyed the performance. Sam then offered his perspective on the “aggressive” kiss.
He said: “It wasn’t an aggressive kiss, though. I feel like it was quite like a choreo…by the way, it was choreography, that kiss. I think we should put that out there right now.”
Pete replied: “But yeah, it was part of the choreography.”

The incident took place on September 19 when Pete and Sam presented a live version of their podcast at the O2. During the event, Pete and Jowita performed a routine they’d originally prepared for the Strictly final before their elimination.
In the routine, set to Kaleo’s Way Down We Go, Jowita fell into Pete’s embrace after being suspended in the air by silks. The pair ultimately shared three kisses throughout the performance, prompting cheers from the audience.
Since that moment, the footage has been circulating on TikTok, with supporters reportedly calling it a ‘hard launch’ and proof of a genuine relationship. A video of Sam and Peter waving was subsequently shared on the podcast’s Instagram account.
The caption read: “From two guys that didn’t know each other to two best mates headlining the O2.”
Jowita responded: “Thank you for letting me be a part of the show! Love you team.”
