Strictly Come Dancing star Chris McCausland has reassured fans after sparking concerns with a career update.

The comedian made history on the BBC One competition last year, lifting the glitterball trophy with Dianne Buswell and winning over the nation.

The pair have been keeping fans updated on their friendship on social media and their weekly podcast Winning Isn’t Everything, however, last week, Chris raised doubts over whether it would be allowed to continue, as Dianne prepares for the next series of Strictly with her new partner, Neighbours actor Stefan Dennis.

Chris has now taken to X to share an update after revealing it was a “possibility” that their podcast would be coming to an end.

He had said: “At the minute it doesn’t look like Dianne will be allowed to do it through Strictly.”

The comedian has now confirmed: “Good news, as #WinningIsntEverything will be continuing. Due to timeframe and schedules though we will not have one out on Thursday morning, but we will try to get one out later that day. Thanks to everyone that listens X.”

“Thank goodness my Thursdays just wouldn’t have been the same,” one fan celebrated.

Another commented: “Great news. I love my Thursday hour of nonsense.”

A third wrote: “I’m so happy, Chris!! I’ve been in a bit of a funk all day, thinking that it was finished. It really does make me smile and brightens my week.”

Someone else added: “Fantastic news!!! I had this horrible feeling that it was going to come to an end. So glad that we can still have our Chris and Dianne weekly nonsense x.”

This comes after Chris and Dianne reunited for the pre-recorded Strictly launch show, as they reprised their Bafta award-winning waltz to You’ll Never Walk Alone.

The professional dancer is also the first to take part in the competition while pregnant, as she announced the news that she was expecting her first child with YouTuber Joe Sugg, whom she met on Strictly Come Dancing in 2018, last month.

She later clarified her future on the show, confirming she’d be returning to Strictly and would have a celebrity partner as fans shared their worries for her safety.

An insider also told The Sun: “Diane would never have turned down Strictly. She is making history as the first pregnant star to dance on the show.

“She’s full of enthusiasm and raring to go. She’s been giving it her all in rehearsals and is very aware of what she can and can’t do.

“Like the true pro she is, she knows where her limitations will be when it comes to lifts and more complex moves.”

Dianne also reassured fans, saying, “I’m still doing everything I did before. Obviously, with lifts, there’s going to be a bit more caution. But my doctor has said everything is normal.

“He said, basically, if you’ve done it before, in terms of being a dancer and you’ve done this, done that, then crack on and keep doing what you’re doing.”

Strictly Come Dancing continues this Saturday at 6.20pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
