Part 3′ Trailer Release Date; Character Posters

Finally! The trailer for Dune: Part Three is here (well, it will be Tuesday).
Deadline has been shown the brand new trailer for Dune: Part Three, and also took part in a Q&A with director Denis Villeneuve. All will be revealed tomorrow, so check back to see the trailer and read Villeneuve’s comments about the film and all the spice revealed.
Already, the pump is being primed for the third installment, with star Timothée Chalamet revealing his character poster on his social media Monday. Warner Bros has since made several character posters available (see below) including what seems to be the new news that Isaach de Bankolé has joined the cast, playing Farok.
Among the other juicy tidbits fans are awaiting: the revelation of new cast members (some of which we’ve already reported); the fate of Chalamet’s Paul Atreides and Zendaya‘s Chani, and just how much we will see of Rebecca Ferguson this time around…
Dune: Part Three, adapted from the 1969 Frank Herbert book Dune Messiah, is set to hit theaters on December 18, 2026.
So far, this is what we’ve reported about the hotly awaited threequel: Robert Pattinson confirmed his participation, saying “When I was doing Dune it was so hot in the desert that I just couldn’t question anything,” and, “it was so relaxing, like my brain actually wasn’t operating. I did not have a single functioning brain cell. And I was just listening to Denis: ‘Whatever you want!’” Insiders have also told Deadline in prior reporting that Pattinson will be playing the villain role of Scytale.
Villeneuve reportedly shot the film last summer, using Imax cameras (in part).
Anya Taylor-Joy, who was teased at the end of the second film, will be joining the cast in the role of Chalamet’s younger sister Alia.
Pattinson, Taylor-Joy and de Bankolé where all included among the nine character posters released Monday.
Dune is Legendary’s expansive, multi-format science fiction universe based on Herbert’s Hugo Award-winning novel series. The collection has included two feature films (2021’s Dune: Part One and last year’s Dune: Part Two, which earned a combined $1.12 billion at the global box office and won eight Oscars from 15 nominations, including Best Picture noms for both).
The universe’s most recent entry is prequel TV series Dune: Prophecy, from Lost writer-producer Alison Schapker and set 10,000 years before the ascension of Paul Atreides. The series premiered on HBO and HBO Max in November to critical acclaim.
