SC State campus on lockdown after shooting, officials say

ORANGEBURG, S.C. (WIS) – South Carolina State has issued a lockdown on campus after reports of a shooting on Saturday night.
The university issued an alert after reports of shots at Hugine Suites.
According to the alert, campus police are investigating the incident.
SC State urges Hugine Suites residents who are not in the complex to report to the Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center
“Students in other residence halls return to their rooms. Off-campus residents, please exit the campus,” the school says in the alert.
The homecoming concert scheduled for Saturday was also canceled as a result of the shooting.
SLED released a statement regarding the shooting shortly after midnight, stating: “SLED is investigating and may have more information at a later time.”
