ATP Stockholm Day 1 Predictions Including Tallon Griekspoor vs Jacob Fearnley

The ATP tour moves on the the indoor hard court season with a fantastic draw on the cards here at the ATP Stockholm Open. The 2025 edition is going to be action packed and as ever, we predict every match on the slate in Sweden’s capital. But who will book their spot in the second round?
ATP Stockholm Day 1 Predictions
Leo Borg vs Sebastian Ofner
Head-to-head: first meeting
Leo Borg returns to the court after a lengthy layoff since May. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the Swede received a wild card and he will need to be at his best from the get go against experienced opposition. He faces Sebastian Ofner who is playing in Stockholm with a protected ranking but had been in good form before picking up an injury. Expect Ofner to be more comfortable at this level versus an opponent who is likely to be very rusty and has yet to really prove himself on the main tour.

Sebastian Korda vs Alexei Popyrin
Head-to-head: Korda 1-1 Popyrin
Sebastian Korda has been playing well since the ATP Winston Salem Open with the US Open disappointment in between. The American will face Alexei Popyrin who did play well in Toronto but hasn’t managed to win two matches on the trot since. Expect Korda to make full use of the conditions and his baseline game should slightly be more adept at rushing Popyrin.
Prediction: Korda in 3
Miomir Kecmanovic vs Alexandre Muller
Head-to-head: Muller 2-0 Kecmanovic
If their past matches are anything to go by, Miomir Kecmanovic and Alexandre Muller should light up the courts once again. Their previous two matches, both of which happened in 2025 were super competitive and there is no clear favourite for this match either. Both players have won a tournament this year, but that was in the early part of 2025. Recent times these two haven’t had great results. Expect a close contest but the psychological advantage that Muller has held over Kecmanovic this year mightjust give him a decisive edge.
Prediction: Muller in 3

Tallon Griekspoor vs Jacob Fearnley
Head-to-head: Griekspoor 1-0 Fearnley
Tallon Griekspoor has been rewarded for a good 2025 by approaching the close of the year with a good ranking and as a result being the fifth seed here at the ATP Stockholm Open. The Dutch #1 is a great talent, especially on hard courts, and it will be very interesting to see how he goes about this week. His opponent is Jacob Fearnley and coincidently their only previous meeting came here in Stockholm last year. Fearnley has shown no considerable form over the past few months and expect Griekspoor to progress ahead easily.
Prediction: Griekspoor in 2
