‘The more normal you can make it, the easier it is to go play,’ Schneider says
Schneider says there’ll be a time where he’ll take in the magnitude of the Jays’ post-season run, but for now he’s trying to stay in the moment.
“This is why you sign up to do this, as a player, manager. So, you have to enjoy it, there always comes a time when … you gotta take a step back and appreciate it,” he told reporters earlier today.
Schneider said he thinks the key to keep the nerves at bay is to treat these crucial games like any other.
“The more normal you can make it, the easier it is to go play,” he said.
“I have found that operating in real time … you don’t really think about the magnitude, anything historical, or things like that in the moment. You’re just trying to do what you do.”
