Is Garrett Wilson playing today? Why Jets WR is off to quiet start against Broncos

With the New York Jets’ offense struggling mightily, the team needs to get a ton out of wide receiver Garrett Wilson in the Week 6 game against the Denver Broncos.

Wilson is the Jets’ leading receiver entering Week 6 with 382 yards and four scores, but one can only wonder how much more he would have if quarterback Justin Fields was playing better football.

Nevertheless, Wilson isn’t getting the attention his talent requires early on in the game against the Broncos in London on Sunday.

Here’s what’s going on.

Wilson reeled in his second target on New York’s fifth drive, but it went for a measly two yards.

UPDATE: Wilson has his first target on the Jets’ fourth drive.

Unfortunately, it fell incomplete thanks to an errant throw from Fields. Yet another example of Wilson being hampered by poor quarterback play, something that has happened throughout his career.

UPDATE: Three drives, no targets for Wilson.

It was also yet another three-and-out for New York’s pitiful offense.

END OF UPDATE

Yes, Wilson is active, healthy and in the lineup, he just hasn’t been targeted yet.

The Jets’ first two drives have both resulted in a three-and-out, so Wilson hasn’t had much of a chance to get going.

We’ll see if drive No. 3 is the one that gets Wilson going.
