Australian shooter Nash Walker will join Marquette this season and redshirt

Shaka Smart imagines Giannis Antetokounmpo actually playing at Marquette
The Bucks superstar took to social media to wonder about his NCAA eligibility and if he could play at Marquette.
The Marquette men’s basketball team announced its 2026 recruiting class on Nov. 12 … and one will join the roster this season.
Nash Walker, a 6-foot-6 forward from the NBA Global Academy in Australia, is arriving on campus in December and will redshirt this season. He will take MU’s 15th and final scholarship slot for 2025-26.
Alex Egbuonu and Ethan Johnston are the Golden Eagles’ other 2026 recruits. The three players officially signed with MU on Nov. 12.
Walker is a native of a small town in Tasmania, Australia. He is known as a sharpshooter with a good feel for the game.
The NBA Global Academy, which also produced MU senior Ben Gold, has shut down operations. Walker is the third player redshirting this season, along with Ian Miletic and Sheek Pearson.
“Nash is a true energy giver and pure shooter with a quick release,” MU head coach Shaka Smart said in a release. “His competitiveness, basketball IQ and ability to make those around him better all match very well with who we are.”
