Zayn Malik and his relatives have issued an update to supporters, requesting a “meaningful gesture”, following the star’s hospitalisation for a mystery ailment.
Earlier this month, devotees of the former One Direction performer were left heartbroken when he withdrew from a string of events to publicise his latest album. They grew even more worried when Zayn posted a photograph of himself in hospital, disclosing his mysterious health struggle.
In the first communication since then, his cousin Sasha Malik revealed how much the family “appreciate the love” supporters are attempting to demonstrate and issued a statement, sanctioned by Zayn and his relatives, requesting a “meaningful gesture” instead of flowers.

Sasha penned in an Instagram story: “We’re so grateful for everyone who has reached out to send bouquets! Logistically, it just simply can’t work, but we appreciate you all so much, please donate anything you’d like on Zayn’s behalf to The Palestine Project!”
She included a statement from North West based florist The Hidden Bouquet, which had approval from the Malik family. It read: “Due to the high volume of requests for Zayn Mailk and his family, we are unfortunately no longer able to take any further orders at this time.
“We truly appreciate the love and support show. If you would still like to make a meaningful gesture, the Malik family would greatly appreciate donations being made to the Palestine Project via the link below. You are welcome to donate the amount you would have spent on a bouquet and leave a message of support there. The fundraiser will be checked by the family and your kind words and contributions will go a long way.”, reports the Mirror.

A link to The Palestine Project’s JustGiving page was also included. The page was established to collect funds to assist Islamic Relief, an international relief and development charity, provide food, clean water, shelter and emergency medical aid to those living in Palestine amid the conflict with Israel.
The initial target of the project was to raise £27,000, and thanks to over 800 supporters, it has achieved that objective. Several of those contributing left messages for Zayn and his family. One said: “Prayers for everyone, in honour of Zayn”. Another added: “I was made aware of this fundraiser through Zayn Malik and his family. It’s a cause I care so deeply about and I am grateful for the opportunity to help in this way. I’m wishing Zayn a speedy recovery.”
A third said: “My donation is gave with heartfelt support for this cause!! Also I am giving in honor of ZAYN and his family much love and support, prayers always!! Hope Zayn is feeling much better!!”
Fans are eagerly awaiting Zayn’s recovery in time for his forthcoming world tour, which is slated to be his largest solo tour to date. He is scheduled to kick off the tour in Manchester in May 2026 and proceed with performances across the UK, as well as in Los Angeles, Mexico City, Sao Paulo and beyond. The final gig is planned for November in Miami.
Details about Zayn’s illness remain scant, but a source informed PEOPLE that his treatment involves collaboration with the “no. one cardiologist in the world”.
