SMAT 2025-26: Rajasthan’s Kartik Sharma ruled out of Super League stage due to injury

Rajasthan’s wicketkeeper-batter Kartik Sharma has been ruled out of the Super League stage of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy due to a finger injury.
The 19-year-old Kartik was one of the key performers for the team in the group league fixture, where he scored 133 runs in five games at a strike rate of over 160.
However, he missed out on the last two group league fixtures, and Rajasthan coach Anshu Jain confirmed to Sportstar on Thursday that the youngster will be out of action for a few more days.
“It’s not a serious injury, and he should recover in another 15-10 days. He suffered a finger injury and while batting or keeping, he experienced some discomfort and pain,” Jain said.
Kartik’s cameos in the middle-order helped Rajasthan immensely in the group stage, and Jain admitted that his absence will be a huge blow.

“After a long time, I have seen a young batter like Kartik who can hit clean and his absence will be felt. But then, such things happen in cricket when a team fares well despite the absence of its best players. So, this has been an opportunity for another young cricketer, Mukul Choudhary, to prove himself and he has done so,” Jain said.
Replacing Kartik, Choudhary scored an unbeaten 62 off 26 deliveries in a group league fixture against Delhi and paved the way for Rajasthan’s entry into the Super League stage. The coach hopes that the youngster continues to step in for the team in crunch times.
Rajasthan will be playing against Haryana in its opening fixture at the MCA Stadium on Friday.
