Widespread freeze expected Sunday night

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – An Arctic front will sneak into the area Saturday evening/night, but the wind and cooler air Sunday morning will be much less subtle. We fight with daytime heating throughout Sunday afternoon, but as wind calms and skies clear, we expect temps to plummet by the start of the work week.
A widespread freeze is expected by Monday morning with temperatures in the 20s and 30s. Outdoor faucets should be covered along with tending to sensitive plants and bringing pets inside for the night.(KBTX)
As we have done with the past couple near-freezing nights, we suggest at least bringing pets and sensitive plants inside, and if you haven’t already done so, Saturday will be a great opportunity to go ahead and cover up the outdoor faucets at least for that time frame before much warmer weather returns. This will not be the type of freeze that requires indoor faucet dripping.

A reminder: northern and northeastern counties (Lee as well) are not included in this watch because a widespread freeze has already been seen in these areas. This is issued by the NWS in regards to the first freeze of the season, such as B/CS, where an official freeze has not been recorded yet. As seen above, our forecast calls for everyone in the Brazos Valley to at least dip down to the freezing mark for a few hours.
