To celebrate its bicentennial, KeyBank has made a $200,000 philanthropic grant to Finanta through the KeyBank Foundation.
Finanta is a non-profit CDFI, which has an office in Allentown and has been involved in such projects as the revitalization of a 17.5-acre manufacturing campus in Allentown for Marcon Properties.
This is part of Key’s special bicentennial grant program designed to strengthen Community Development Financial Institutions and foundations that play a critical role in advancing affordable housing and small business development.
“We’re grateful to KeyBank for this investment and their commitment to the communities we care about,” said Danial Betancourt, president and CEO of Finanta. “This funding helps us expand access to capital, resources, and technical assistance to small businesses and entrepreneurs as they move their projects forward and strengthen their neighborhoods, create jobs and build economic stability.”
Funds from this grant will be used for Finanta’s Affinity Group Lending and Technical Assistance (AGL) program, which provides necessary resources for small business owners and entrepreneurs in the greater Philadelphia region to receive microloans.
“Supporting organizations like Finanta is a big part of KeyBank’s purpose of helping the communities we serve thrive,” said KeyBank Eastern Pennsylvania Market President Youseff Tannous. “We are here not only to serve our clients, but to invest in neighborhoods where we live and work – providing opportunities and making a difference in people’s lives.”
The KeyBank Foundation has donated $200,000 to community development efforts in each of KeyBank’s 27 markets. These milestone grants total $5.4 million.
