Seahawks are eying down Super Bowl sack record after strong start

The 2025-26 Seahawks team’s defense is one of the best we have seen in recent history.

*Update: Seahawks tie Super Bowl record after recording 7th sack vs. Patriots

Before the first quarter has even ended, the Seahawks’ defense has two sacks.

It doesn’t sound like anything too crazy, but they are on a steady pace to come close to the record for sacks in the Super Bowl game.

Four teams are tied for the most sacks in the game, with seven being the most we’ve seen from a defense in the big game.

Those four teams are the Rams (2022), Broncos (2016), Bears (1986) and Steelers (1976).

Maye might be getting some flashbacks to when he was in attendance for Super Bowl 50, as the Panthers let up a record amount of sacks against the Broncos.
