Chivas nicks Liga MX’s Ballon d’Or with 6 nominees!

Great news, Chivahermanos! Guadalajara’s outstanding football year keeps paying off. Liga MX announced the nominees for the 2026 Ballon d’Or this Friday, an award that honors the best players in Mexican football at each position, and Chivas proudly has six representatives among the candidates.

In addition, Argentine manager Gabriel Milito received a nomination for Best Coach of the Year.
Along with the individual recognition, this nomination also brings another distinction, as all Ballon d’Or candidates automatically become the first players called up for the Liga MX All-Star Game, a match in which the stars of Mexican football will face the stars of MLS.
The match will be played on July 29 at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina, and will bring together several of the biggest stars from both leagues.
