Discussion:
It was a gorgeous start to the weekend across the Southern Tier as temperatures reached the mid 70s with plentiful sunshine. As we work through this evening clouds will increase, and a few spotty showers are possible. An embedded thunderstorm can’t be ruled out. This activity will be approaching dry air and will weaken as it works across the region. Rain will taper off throughout the overnight hours. Low temperatures will be in the upper 50s to low 60s.
Another day of sunshine and warm temperatures is in store for Sunday. There is a small chance of a pop up shower late tomorrow afternoon, but most of the region will be dry. Highs will be in the upper 70s to even lower 80s with lows in the upper 50s to lower 60s.
Mostly sunny for Sunday(WBNG)
It will feel like summer to start the week, with near record highs possible for both Monday and Tuesday. The record for both days is 87°F. It will be muggy as well as dew points climb into the mid 60s. An isolated shower or thunderstorm is possible Monday and Tuesday afternoon. Due to high dewpoints, overnight lows on both days will be stuck in the low to mid 60s, so make sure those air conditioners are working!
Near record highs to start the week(WBNG)
A cold front will sweep across the region on Wednesday, with showers and thunderstorms expected. There are some differences with regard to timing, so we’ll be keeping an eye on the model trends. Temperatures will be cooler on Wednesday, only topping out in the mid 70s. It will be much cooler behind the front, with overnight lows dropping into the 40s.
After the cold front passes through, our summer stretch will be over. Temperatures will fall back to below average, only topping out in the low 60s from Thursday through Saturday.
