Blue Jays make a Charles McAdoo change to point to a promotion

Charles McAdoo’s bat seems to be ready for the major leagues.
The Toronto Blue Jays are trying to get McAdoo’s positional versatility ready to make an impact in MLB for a promotion that has to be getting closer.
McAdoo, who relates as a cousin to basketball Hall of Famer Bob McAdoo, has mostly played first base and third base at Triple-A Buffalo this season.
On Thursday night, though, McAdoo got a start at second base. The Blue Jays are adding to his repertoire.
Worth noting: #BlueJays INF prospect Charles McAdoo started at 2B for the 1st time this year last night for AAA Buffalo.
He’s mainly been 3B/1B this year, but Jays are clearly looking to diversify his fielding. McAdoo (.259 AVG, .812 OPS, 7 HR) has been Bisons’ top RH bat

McAdoo has immense tools, with the .812 OPS above a part of that. He’s also quite fast and strong, and so if he can get the mechanics down at a new spot, he can probably figure it out.
The Blue Jays roster pretty much had McAdoo blocked at first base (Vladimir Guerrero Jr.), third base (Kazuma Okamoto) and DH (George Springer).
There’s a bit less opposition up the middle of the diamond.
Ernie Clement is the starting second baseman, with Andres Gimenez at shortstop. The Blue Jays like both, but neither is as secure in the lineup as those corner bats.
Behind them, they’ve got Lenyn Sosa and Davis Schneider, neither of whom have been as productive as hoped this season.
If McAdoo came up, it’d likely be for one of those two. And with the forethought the Blue Jays are putting into the youngster’s usage, his first trip to the big leagues could be coming soon.
