Cruz Hewitt gets his chance to make a name for himself in today’s Wimbledon boys final.
The 17-year-old is the first Australian to make a Wimbledon boys final since Alex de Minaur in 2016 and if he can beat American Jordan Lee, he’ll be the first Aussie junior to win the Wimbledon title since 2011.
It’s 24 years since his father Lleyton Hewitt won the Wimbledon men’s singles title and Cruz’s parents have been by his side watching his matches this week.
Cruz has been a popular figure at the All England Club with Roger Federer’s children cheering him on.
The match is underway. Hewitt won the first set 6-4 before dropping the second 6-4. Both players had won 70 points each after two sets, showing the razor-thin margins in the contest.
Hewitt is up a break in the third set.
