Gavin Newsom Gloats After Triggering Epic Trump Meltdown

President Donald Trump threw a fit on social media on Thursday ― and California Gov. Gavin Newsom couldn’t have been happier about it.

“Rent free,” Newsom wrote on X from his personal account as he shared a screenshot of Trump’s 158-word rant claiming the governor “made a mockery of himself” at the World Economic Forum in Davos.

The president and his staff were reportedly ticked that the governor attended the event, where Newsom urged European leaders to “stop being complicit” and stand up to Trump.

Newsom was denied entry to the U.S. pavilion at the event, where he had been scheduled to deliver a “fireside chat.” He blamed the White House, then trashed Trump in an interview with Semafor’s Ben Smith.

“Is it surprising the Trump administration didn’t like my commentary and wanted to make sure that I was not allowed to speak? No, it’s consistent with this administration and their authoritarian tendencies,” Newsom told Smith.

Newsom, who is considering a 2028 presidential run, also called Trump “historically unpopular” and wondered: “How the hell are we putting up with this?”

Trump fired off a lengthy message on his Truth Social platform saying Newsom was “running around screaming for the attention of Foreign Leaders, and embarrassing our Country.”

He told Newsom, who can’t seek reelection as governor due to the state’s term limits, to finish his term “and GO HOME!”

The message came amid a flurry of posts and reposts by Trump on Thursday evening attacking Newsom, other Democratic figures and even some Republicans, while praising himself. He also disinvited Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney ― who called him out from the Davos stage ― from his “Board of Peace” for Gaza, questioned NATO, and shared messages applauding his own leadership.
