Storm Amy has led to the cancellation of events and disrupted travel across the south-east of England.
At about 07:00 BST, Southern Railway said a tree was blocking the railway between Rye and Ashford International, preventing trains from running between the East Sussex and Kent stations.
Just before 09:00 it said the tree had been cleared, adding that normal service would resume soon.
The disruption comes amid a Met Office yellow weather warning for southern England, which is expected to lift at 19:00.
The weather agency said strong and gusty winds could bring power cuts and some delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport.
Similar warnings are in place across the whole country.
Some events in Surrey and Sussex were cancelled due to the weather warning.
The Royal Horticultural Society Garden Wisley said it had closed for the safety of visitors and staff.
A planned open day of the National Coastwatch Institution lookout in Newhaven was also called off due to the bad weather.
The Met Office said when a wind warning is in place, people can keep themselves and others safe by staying indoors, securing loose items outside their homes and planning properly if they have to make a journey.
