Will Prince Harry Lose His HRH Title?

The recent decision to strip Andrew of his prince honorific and the His Royal Highness styling has led a lot of people to wonder if Prince Harry could be next. It’s a little bit of an absurd question considering Andrew’s many scandals due to his association with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein are so much more serious than whatever the British royal family is upset about regarding Harry. But the question is being asked nonetheless.

And palace sources told Page Six they “would not be surprised” if it happened. British politician Rachael Maskell has just relaunched her proposal for a “Removal of Titles Bill” which would give King Charles and, when he ascends to the throne, Prince William, the power to remove hereditary titles.

“If they pass these bills, I would not be surprised if Harry is the next one to go,” one well-placed royal source told Page Six. “I would not be surprised if William does that … he’s not a vindictive person, but he feels very let down and it’s always much more difficult when you are let down by somebody close to you.”

Royal writer Hugo Vickers told the outlet that the relationship between the brothers is so bad right now that William may not even invite Harry to his coronation.

“Harry must be quite scared,” another palace insider said of the proposed bill.

All of this, however, comes after recent reports that despite the fact that the relationship between Prince William and Prince Harry is not in its best moment, the recent meeting Harry had with King Charles was just the beginning of the reconciliation process for Harry. Indeed, RadarOnline.com recently reported that William has agreed to meet with Harry for the first time in nearly three years after both his father and his wife, Kate Middleton, interceded in favor of the reconciliation.

A source told the outlet, “William’s willing to meet Harry, but only if everything happens strictly on his terms. That means no Meghan, no aides, and zero chance of it ending up as content for a documentary or book. He’s deeply wary of being secretly recorded or having his words twisted – the trust between them is completely gone. Harry will basically face being frisked before they talk.”

The brothers have been distanced since Harry stepped down as a working royal, but particularly since the publication of Harry’s 2023 memoir, Spare. In the last few months, however, Harry has made it clear he’s looking for reconciliation. And a friend of William told the publication he wants the same too. “He’s not heartless – part of him really misses how things used to be, the jokes, the closeness. But too much has happened, and he doubts they can ever truly rebuild that trust. He wants some kind of peace, but not if it means setting himself up to be hurt again.”

Considering the reports sound pretty similar to what was being reported before King Charles and Prince Harry met, there is some hope. What that means for Harry’s titles and whether he gets to keep them in the future, we’ll have to wait and see.
