Canucks’ Thatcher Demko won’t dress vs. Blue Jackets

The goaltender will not dress as his team takes on the Columbus Blue Jackets during Hockey Night in Canada (10 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. PT on Sportsnet Pacific and Sportsnet+).
Demko, 29, did skate Saturday morning after being absent from practice on Friday.
He is 5-4-0 this season with a .912 save percentage and a 2.57 goals-against average in nine starts. He last played Monday in Vancouver’s 5-4 overtime win against the Nashville Predators.
Head coach Adam Foote said Friday that Demko is “taking care of himself” as a result of this season’s condensed schedule but did not indicate whether he is dealing with an injury.
“Demmer won’t be playing tonight,” Foote added. “He went out this morning, and he’s still doing his thing, preparing for next time he plays.”
Demko missed much of last season due to a knee injury. He played just 23 games, posting a 10-8-3 record with a .889 save percentage, a 2.90 goals-against average and one shutout.
