Award-winning Hollywood star placed in hospice care amid battle with dementia

A famous actress who starred in countless movies and TV shows throughout her 60-plus year career has entered hospice care.
Sally Kirkland, known best for her role as Anna in the 1987 Golden Globe winner “Anna,” has been placed in hospice care as she battles dementia.
The 84-year-old Hollywood legend entered hospice care at a hospital in Palm Springs, Calif. Kirkland’s representative Michael Greene confirmed the news to TMZ.
A GoFundMe was set up in November to support Kirkland’s medical care. The account has received almost $60,000 in donations as it nears its goal of $65,000.
The fundraiser stated that Kirkland had fractured her four bones in her neck, right wrist, left hip and battled two separated life-threatening infections over the past year.
The GoFundMe’s description revealed that Kirkland lost the bulk of the money she had made throughout her career during the financial crisis of 2008.
“While Sally has had a successful career as a working actor, due to bad advice from a financial advisor-business manager in 2007 during the market crash Sally lost the bulk of her investments and the money she made during the peak of her career (1988 – 1998), which Celebrity Net Worth has never updated or corrected,” the note read.
The longtime actress appeared in more than 250 film and television projects over her 60-plus year career. Some of her most notable roles came in films like “Anna,” “The Sting” and “JFK,” and shows such as “Charlie’s Angels” and “Murder, She Wrote.”
