Montana’s Brooks Davis named a finalist for Jerry Rice Award

MISSOULA, Mt. — Montana freshman wide receiver Brooks Davis has been one of the pleasant surprises to stand out on Montana’s offense this fall.
Davis was second on the team in receiving yards with 611 on 48 catches and 5 touchdowns this year including a game winner against North Dakota. Davis also rushed for 23 yards and a touchdown.
Now Davis is being recognized for his breakout season being named a finalist for the Jerry Rice award. The Jerry Rice award is given to the top freshman in the FCS every year. Montana’s Eli Gillman won the award following his 2023 campaign. Davis was one of only two Big Sky players to be named to the finalist watch list.
The recipient will be named on December 3rd and honored a month later on January 3rd at the Stats Perform National Awards show in Nashville, Tennessee ahead of the FCS National championship.
