Selena Gomez’s mother-in-law hides from intruders during break-in at L.A. home

Selena Gomez’s mother-in-law survived a break-in at her Los Angeles home that could have been a scene from the actor/singer’s hit mystery show “Only Murders in the Building.”

Minus the murder.

Sandra Levin, the mother of Gomez’s husband, music producer Benny Blanco, was at her home in Studio City when two men wearing masks and dark clothing broke inside around 9:30 p.m. Monday through a sliding glass door on the side, NBC Los Angeles reported, citing police sources.

Levin heard the commotion, ran upstairs and hid in a bathroom inside a bedroom, police said.

Locked inside, Levin told police she heard the intruders walk upstairs and open the door to a bedroom.

When she peeked out, the intruders saw her and fled, police said.

It was not immediately clear whether they made off with anything or whether they were armed, and Levin could not be reached for comment.

Gomez and Blanco, who has worked with some of the music world’s top-selling artists, were married in September.

On “Only Murders in the Building,” Gomez plays crime-solving podcaster Mabel Mora, who, along with co-stars Steve Martin and Martin Short, often finds herself having to hide from murder suspects in the Arconia, the fictional upscale apartment building on the Upper West Side of Manhattan.
