It came from a Sunderland corner after the home side lost possession, with Adams pouncing and making the Black Cats pay with a moment of brilliance.
Sunderland goalkeeper Robin Roefs was off his line and had no chance after watching the ball sail over his head.

One said: “Tyler Adams, take a bow, because that is an all-time chip goal from distance from you.”
A second said: “He made that look so effortless, wow!”
A third joked Adams’ goal even better than Richarlison‘s similar long-range effort for Tottenham against Arsenal last week.
The post read: “Won’t even let Richarlison have his consolation goal of the month in peace.”

And another added: “Tyler Adams hadn’t scored a league goal in over four years until he bagged one a couple of weeks ago. Now he’s scoring curlers from the centre circle. What a man.”
The United States international is a key man for Iraola after playing 32 times last season, though he had previously never scored for the club.
In fact, his last goal for any club came back in the 2020-21 season, when he netted for Red Bull Leizpig.
After the fast start from Bournemouth, Sunderland did pull one back around 15 minutes later from the penalty spot through Enzo Le Fee.
It capped off a frantic first half in the North East between two of the Premier League’s surprise packages this season.
Before this game, Bournemouth had been winless in their last three games, but they have managed five wins from 12 games this season.
And Sunderland have defied predictions of an immediate return to the Championship with a stunning start to the campaign.
Regis Le Bris’ side also have opened with five victories, including a 2-1 away win at Chelsea while they also secured a 2-2 draw against league leaders Arsenal.
