Bengals, Cowboys Skyrocket Up the Ranks With Late Playoff Pushes

Week 14 of the 2025 NFL season is now approaching. This past week of action saw the Carolina Panthers upset the Los Angeles Rams, the Chicago Bears upset the Philadelphia Eagles on Black Friday, and the Cincinnati Bengals pull off a surprise victory over the Baltimore Ravens on Thanksgiving.
These games, among others, led to movement in our PFSN power rankings this week compared to last. Here’s how the NFL is shaping up entering Week 14, according to our metrics system.

32) Tennessee Titans
- Last Week’s Ranking: 32
- Playoff Odds: 0.00%
Week 13 marked more of the same for the Tennessee Titans, as they dropped to the Jaguars in a 25-3 rout on Sunday. The loss extends their losing streak to seven games and their home record to an abysmal 0-7.
Needless to say, the 2025 NFL season has been one to forget for the Titans. As the calendar turns to December, Tennessee’s priority should be the No. 1 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, rather than fielding a competitive team this year. They’re too far gone for that at this point.
31) Las Vegas Raiders
- Last Week’s Ranking: 30
- Playoff Odds: 0.00%
If you’ve watched enough Las Vegas Raiders games this season, then Sunday’s result was hardly a surprise to you. They ended up falling 31-14 to the Chargers, bringing their own record down to 2-10 after their sixth consecutive loss in the 2025 NFL season.
Geno Smith threw another interception in the loss, bringing his total up to 14 for the season. He wasn’t the only player who failed to show up, though; Ashton Jeanty barely averaged over two yards per carry, while the Raiders’ defense gave up a whopping 192 rushing yards to a Chargers team that didn’t even have either of its top two running backs healthy.
30) New Orleans Saints
- Last Week’s Ranking: 31
- Playoff Odds: 0.30%
It’s been a season to forget for the New Orleans Saints in 2025. They rallied back in the second half to keep the game tight, but a scoreless first half proved to be too much for them to overcome in their 21-17 loss to the Dolphins on Sunday.
Being without a top offensive contributor like Alvin Kamara would make things difficult for any NFL team’s offense, but the Saints don’t have the raw talent otherwise to make up for such a loss. Their defense kept Tua Tagovailoa in check for the most part, but their porous run defense also contributed to the loss.
29) New York Jets
- Last Week’s Ranking: 29
- Playoff Odds: 0.00%
In a vacuum, the New York Jets winning three of their last five games is an encouraging sign for things to come, especially considering they dealt two of their best players at this year’s NFL trade deadline. They defeated the Falcons on a walk-off field goal, improving to 3-9 for the year.

— Michael Penny (@flavorsphotos1) December 1, 2025
The Jets’ slow start to the season has basically doomed their chances of making the playoffs. However, they’ve shown some serious fight in recent weeks, and this play in the second half of the year should help Aaron Glenn avoid being a one-year head coach in New York.
28) Cleveland Browns
- Last Week’s Ranking: 27
- Playoff Odds: 0.10%
Going into halftime, the Cleveland Browns were only down 10-8 against a projected playoff team in the 49ers. It appeared as though it was still anybody’s game, but only San Francisco took advantage of that. The Browns were outscored 16-0 in the second half and lost 26-8.
After an encouraging win in Shedeur Sanders’ first NFL start at quarterback last week, Cleveland’s offense fell back down to Earth in Week 13. Myles Garrett added another sack to his stellar 2025 campaign, but that’s about all that could be taken positively from this game for the Browns.
27) New York Giants
- Last Week’s Ranking: 28
- Playoff Odds: 0.00%
Check back later with the New York Giants’ updated ranking after Monday Night Football.
26) Arizona Cardinals
- Last Week’s Ranking: 26
- Playoff Odds: 0.00%
Falling to 2-7 in one-score games this year with their 20-17 loss to Tampa Bay on Sunday, things just haven’t gone right for the Arizona Cardinals in the clutch this season. They have enough talent to compete with playoff-caliber teams, but they just can’t put the game away.
Arizona’s on-field performance is much better than its current 3-9 record indicates. That said, the eye test doesn’t save you your job as a head coach; winning games does. That might be too much for Jonathan Gannon to overcome by the end of this year, the way things are going.
25) Miami Dolphins
- Last Week’s Ranking: 25
- Playoff Odds: 1.60%
As winners of their last three games, the Miami Dolphins have propelled themselves back into contention for a Wild Card spot. At 5-7, they’re admittedly still facing an uphill battle, but their 21-17 victory over the Saints got them closer to turning their 2025 season around.
DEVON ACHANE TAKES IT ALL THE WAY!!!#Dolphins lead 7-0!
— The Star (@12sSportsNews) November 30, 2025
Even if Miami’s passing attack was weak, its defense and run game helped lead it to its win on Sunday. De’Von Achane ran for 134 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries, while the Dolphins’ defense sacked Tyler Shough four times and intercepted him once.
24) Washington Commanders
- Last Week’s Ranking: 23
- Playoff Odds: 0.30%
As disappointing of a season as 2025 has been for the Washington Commanders, they deserve credit for battling close on Sunday night. They entered their matchup against the Broncos as the heavy underdogs, even as the home team. They sent the game into overtime and were one two-point conversion away from picking up the win, but they fell just short in a 27-26 heartbreaker.
After Week 13, the Commanders are now on a seven-game losing streak. They’ve dealt with everything from injuries to regression from key players to a lack of progression from some of their young prospects. Washington battled hard on Sunday, but this year has been a lost season for quite some time.
23) Atlanta Falcons
- Last Week’s Ranking: 21
- Playoff Odds: 3.10%
For much of their game on Sunday, it looked like the Atlanta Falcons would secure the victory over a Jets team that was the consensus underdog going into the matchup. However, a late-game drive from the Jets’ own five-yard line put them into field goal position, causing the Falcons to lose 27-24.
The Falcons have now lost six of their last season matchups after a respectable 3-2 start to the 2025 NFL season. They’ve had a couple of close losses to good teams amidst their losing ways, but falling to a bottom-feeder like the Jets is a bad look for a head coach trying to save his job in Raheem Morris.
22) Minnesota Vikings
- Last Week’s Ranking: 20
- Playoff Odds: 1.50%
With both J.J. McCarthy and Carson Wentz injured, the Minnesota Vikings, in the midst of a three-game losing streak, turned to third-string quarterback Max Brosmer to square off against the red-hot Seahawks. The results were about what you’d expect.
The Vikings are now 4-8 after losing to Seattle 26-0 on Friday. They’ve scored fewer than 20 points per game in each of their last three seasons, an indictment of the entire unit, not just the quarterback. This Minnesota squad is a far cry from last year’s 14-3 team.
21) Tampa Bay Buccaneers
- Last Week’s Ranking: 21
- Playoff Odds: 66.20%
Coming off a three-game losing streak, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers absolutely needed a win over the Cardinals on Sunday to stay in first place in the NFC South. It wasn’t the prettiest of wins, but they did the job, beating Arizona 20-17 to improve to 7-5.
Though Baker Mayfield was playing hurt this week, the Buccaneers haven’t had the same explosive passing attack in recent weeks that they’ve been used to having the last few years. The return of Bucky Irving in their backfield should take a lot of pressure off of Mayfield as he recovers, though.
20) Cincinnati Bengals
- Last Week’s Ranking: 31
- Playoff Odds: 1.00%
The Cincinnati Bengals made a massive jump in our power rankings following their impressive win over the Ravens. Burrow threw for 261 yards and two touchdowns in his return from injury, while Cincinnati’s defense limited Baltimore to just 14 points.
If the Bengals’ defense continues to play as it did against the Ravens, Burrow and the offense are capable of blowing away any team in their path.
19) Pittsburgh Steelers
- Last Week’s Ranking: 17
- Playoff Odds: 47.10%
Due to the lack of top-notch play within their division, the Pittsburgh Steelers are still in a tight competition to win the AFC North. Though the Ravens’ loss allowed Pittsburgh to take control of the division, their 26-7 loss to the Bills on Sunday blew that chance.
Fans booed the beginning of “Renegade” here at Acrisure Stadium as the Steelers trail the Bills, 23-7, with 10:11 left. That has subsided but no one is cheering and defenders are just standing on the field as Styx blares during the timeout. Is this rock bottom? pic.twitter.com/YSbzb1fOB8
— Brian Batko (@BrianBatko) November 30, 2025
The Steelers held a 7-3 lead going into halftime, but the second half was all Buffalo. Pittsburgh’s lack of offensive explosion has come back to hurt them several times this season, and even in a weak division, they might not be able to take the crown.
18) Baltimore Ravens
- Last Week’s Ranking: 19
- Playoff Odds: 60.50%
The Baltimore Ravens suffered a shocking 32-14 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals on Thanksgiving. Lamar Jackson looked ordinary, and in his return from injury, Joe Burrow led the Bengals to a massive win against their division rivals.
The Ravens are now behind the Steelers in the race for the AFC North title. Moreover, the Bengals now believe they can also make a run at the division title and secure a playoff spot.
17) Carolina Panthers
- Last Week’s Ranking: 24
- Playoff Odds: 31.90%
Perhaps no team in the NFL has had as confusing a 2025 season as the Carolina Panthers. That hasn’t always been a bad thing, though, and it certainly wasn’t a bad thing on Sunday. They improved to 7-6 with a surprise victory over the Rams, intercepting MVP candidate Matthew Stafford two times.
The Panthers are still trailing the Buccaneers in the NFC South, but they’re right on their tail. Whether or not they actually win the division, a key win over a Super Bowl contender like Los Angeles will help out Carolina’s chances of making the postseason, as a division champion or as a wild card team.
16) Los Angeles Chargers
- Last Week’s Ranking: 18
- Playoff Odds: 60.50%
After their 29-point loss to the Jaguars last week, the Los Angeles Chargers needed a get-right game to get themselves back on track. Luckily for them, they ran into the bottom-feeding Raiders, and they came away with the 31-14 victory.
Now sitting at 8-4 for the year, the Chargers are in a firm position for a Wild Card spot in the AFC. They have one of the toughest remaining schedules in the NFL after Week 13, but they have enough talent to make it to the postseason.
15) San Francisco 49ers
- Last Week’s Ranking: 14
- Playoff Odds: 85.40%
A strong second-half appearance saw the San Francisco 49ers march into Cleveland and pick up the victory over the Browns on Sunday. With the 26-8 win, they’ve now improved to a 9-4 record for the 2025 NFL season.
Brock Purdy didn’t look particularly sharp in Week 13, throwing for 168 yards with a 55.2% completion percentage. However, strong defensive performances from the likes of Clelin Ferrell and Keion White helped launch the 49ers into a key win to keep them in position for an NFC playoff spot.
14) Dallas Cowboys
- Last Week’s Ranking: 22
- Playoff Odds: 10.70%
With a 6-5-1 record, the Dallas Cowboys still face an uphill battle to make an appearance in the 2025-26 NFL postseason. However, they’re now winners of their last three games, and they have plenty of momentum behind them after defeating the Chiefs on Thanksgiving.
Dallas’ offense is clicking with CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens both healthy, and the defense may still be flawed, but it’s shown improvements since the NFL trade deadline. I wouldn’t want to have to face this red-hot Cowboys team down the stretch this year.
13) Jacksonville Jaguars
- Last Week’s Ranking: 13
- Playoff Odds: 72.00%
Week 13 was a good one for the Jacksonville Jaguars, as their win over the Titans and the Colts’ loss to Houston propelled them into first place in the AFC South. They got some help with other matchups within the division, but Jacksonville’s resounding 25-3 win showed they can take care of business by themselves.
Trevor Lawrence played a clean game on Sunday, throwing two touchdowns and avoiding interceptions, which have plagued him throughout much of 2025. With the Jaguars’ defense swarming the Titans and the offense looking good, this is a team to watch in the AFC playoff race if they can stay this hot.
12) Chicago Bears
- Last Week’s Ranking: 16
- Playoff Odds: 77.30%
No matter what your thoughts are on the manner in which they’re winning games, the Chicago Bears still sit in first place in the NFC North with a 9-3 record. They secured the victory over the Eagles on Friday, giving them their fifth straight win and their ninth in their last 10 games.
Chicago completely dominated Philadelphia in Week 13, cementing itself as a legitimate contender in the NFC. The Bears rushed for 281 yards against the Eagles, and if they play that way in the playoffs, the Caleb Williams-led team can beat anybody.
11) Philadelphia Eagles
- Last Week’s Ranking: 7
- Playoff Odds: 97.50%
Perhaps surprisingly, the Philadelphia Eagles dropped to the Cowboys on Sunday in a 24-21 nail-biter. After getting out to a 21-0 lead early in the second quarter, the Eagles took their foot off the gas on both sides of the ball, and it came back to bite them in the form of their third loss of the year.
What’s more surprising was their loss to the Bears in Week 13. Chicago completely outplayed them at home, and Philadelphia is now 8-4 on the season. Despite that, the Eagles still have a great chance of making the postseason, according to PFSN’s NFL Playoff Predictor. They still have a sizable lead in the NFC East, so they don’t appear to be in jeopardy of losing that top spot any time soon.
10) New England Patriots
- Last Week’s Ranking: 11
- Playoff Odds: 99.50%
Check back later with the New England Patriots’ updated ranking after Monday Night Football.
9) Detroit Lions
- Last Week’s Ranking: 6
- Playoff Odds: 63.80%
The Detroit Lions had a crucial divisional matchup on Thanksgiving, and though their offensive performance was encouraging, they fell just short of the Packers and finished 7-5.
There’s still plenty of time between now and the end of the NFL season, and a close loss against a legitimate playoff team isn’t anything to be ashamed of. That said, the Lions will need to perform well for the rest of the year if they want to remain on track for the postseason with how talented the NFC is this year.
8) Kansas City Chiefs
- Last Week’s Ranking: 8
- Playoff Odds: 44.20%
The PFSN analytical model heavily favors the Kansas City Chiefs because of their strength of schedule and level of competitiveness against playoff teams. That said, now that they’re sitting at 6-6, the results need to start coming before it’s too late.
The Chiefs’ loss to the Cowboys on Thanksgiving was a bit of a surprise, even as hot as Dallas has been right now. Going into Black Friday, Kansas City finds itself 1.5 games out of a Wild Card spot. At a certain point, you can’t rely as much on hypothetical wins if the actual wins aren’t stacking up.
7) Houston Texans
- Last Week’s Ranking: 18
- Playoff Odds: 47.20%
C.J. Stroud made his return to the Houston Texans’ starting lineup this week, and the result was the same as their previous three games: a victory. The Texans marched into Indianapolis to beat the Colts 20-16, improving to 7-5 and winning their fourth straight game.
After a slow start to 2025, the Texans have picked things up in recent weeks. Their current winning streak includes victories over teams like the Jaguars, Bills, and Colts. In the games they haven’t won, they’ve often played legitimate Super Bowl contenders tightly all year. Don’t sleep on Houston to potentially make noise in the NFL postseason this year.
6) Buffalo Bills
- Last Week’s Ranking: 5
- Playoff Odds: 78.40%
Things looked ugly for the Buffalo Bills in the first half against the Steelers, scoring only three points before halftime. Though they went into halftime down by four, they pulled away quickly with their second-half performance, outscoring Pittsburgh 23-0 in the final two quarters of the game.
Bills 26-7 Steelers

— Mundo NFL (@MundoNFL) December 1, 2025
With their 26-7 victory, the Bills are now 8-4 for the season. They’re still slightly behind the Patriots in the race atop the AFC East, but they’re in a favorable position for a playoff spot. With that roster’s talent, they should be a serious threat to win the conference at this pace.
5) Green Bay Packers
- Last Week’s Ranking: 9
- Playoff Odds: 70.50%
The Green Bay Packers kicked off Thanksgiving on a high note, getting out in front of the Lions 31-24 in a shootout that saw Jordan Love throw four touchdowns. With the win, the Packers jumped to 8-3-1 for the year.
In a competitive NFC playoff race, picking up a key win over a contender like Detroit is a significant victory for the Packers. Perhaps most importantly, it gives them a sweep over their division rival for the 2025 NFL season. That could come in handy as tiebreakers are used for playoff seeding.
4) Indianapolis Colts
- Last Week’s Ranking: 4
- Playoff Odds: 89.80%
There’s room for Indianapolis Colts fans to be concerned with their team’s play in recent weeks. Their loss to the Texans on Sunday marked their third in their last four games, bringing their 2025 NFL record to 8-4.
As a result of their recent slump, the Colts no longer hold the tiebreaker for first place in the AFC South. Perhaps most interestingly, the fact that Jonathan Taylor has been held to just 4.0 yards per carry or fewer in each of those losses. Have NFL teams finally figured out how to stop the Indianapolis offense?
3) Denver Broncos
- Last Week’s Ranking: 3
- Playoff Odds: 98.10%
It wasn’t pretty, but the Denver Broncos extended their winning streak to nine games with their Sunday night victory over the Commanders. The game went into overtime, and though the Broncos gave up a touchdown down the stretch, a deflected pass on a two-point conversion by Nik Bonitto saved the day for Denver and got them the win.
On their current nine-game winning streak, seven of those wins have come by one possession. There have been some close calls against inferior competition, such as the Jets, Giants, Raiders, and now the Commanders. That said, they keep finding a way to win games, and their wins against better teams like the Chiefs, Eagles, and Texans are enough to show that they’re legit.
2) Los Angeles Rams
- Last Week’s Ranking: 1
- Playoff Odds: 98.50%
The Los Angeles Rams have been playing as good football as just about anybody in the NFL this year, but they had a surprising slip-up on Sunday with their 31-28 loss to the Panthers. The loss dropped them to 9-3, still tied for the best in the NFC.
Los Angeles struggled with the two-headed monster of Chuba Hubbard and Rico Dowdle in the Panthers’ backfield on Sunday. Even though their own running back tandem of Blake Corum and Kyren Williams also excelled, Stafford’s aforementioned two picks and the defense’s struggles show the Rams might not be invincible after all.
1) Seattle Seahawks
- Last Week’s Ranking: 2
- Playoff Odds: 91.10%
As the home team facing an ice-cold Vikings team on Sunday, the Seattle Seahawks entered their Week 13 matchup as heavy favorites. Not only did they live up to expectations, but they arguably surpassed them in their 26-0 blowout victory.
Minnesota’s offense has been weak this season, but any time you can achieve a shutout in the NFL, that’s a feat worth celebrating. The Seahawks’ lockdown defense, combined with an offense that can beat you in many different ways, makes them a true threat in the NFC.
