Kelly Clarkson Shares Rare Photo of Her Two Kids Enjoying Festive Ice Skating Outing
Singer Kelly Clarkson, known for hits like “Breakaway” and “Since U Been Gone,” shared a rare glimpse of her personal life with fans as she checked one winter activity off her family’s to-do list.
The talk show host shared the special update on Instagram on Nov. 30, posting a photo of herself standing beside a woman with blonde hair who could be her older sister, Alyssa, although it’s not certain, while Clarkson’s two young children, River and Remy, stood in front of them.
The whole crew smiled brightly, dressed in cozy winter jackets, hats, and gloves, with the ice skating rink at 30 Rockefeller Plaza in New York City visible behind them. Clarkson captioned the rare personal post, “Ice skating at 30 Rock with the family ✅.”
While Clarkson rarely posts photos or updates relating to her kids in general, the family has been extra private in the past few months after Clarkson’s ex-husband and her children’s father, Brandon Blackstock, died in August from cancer, making this an unexpected post from the singer.
Fans in the comments were excited to get the family update from Clarkson, with many noting how happy they were to see everyone looking so joyful in the photo.
“Beautiful family pic!” commented one supportive fan, while others cheered, “Queen of pop and a queen mom! I love you kelly!” and “Aww so fun, festive, and adorable Kells and family!! Merry Christmas to ya’ll!!”
Another commented, “So good to see those babies happy. ❤️,” as more called the moment “so freaking cute,” and “so adorable.”
A few couldn’t help but point out the obvious resemblance between Clarkson and her daughter, with replies like, “Your Daughter looks just like you,” and “your daughter is your mini me!”

Clarkson Doesn’t Often Share Personal Updates
Clarkson tends to keep her social media about work and her various ongoing projects, such as The Kelly Clarkson Show and her Las Vegas residency, although every once in a while she’ll share a personal update like this.
For example, her last update on Instagram was photos from one of her November Las Vegas concerts, showing the audience, Clarkson on stage, and her band. She wrote alongside the images, “The lights last night, so magical! #StudioSessions #KellyInVegas.”
After her most recent residency show on Nov. 15, Clarkson has a long break until she resumes her residency next summer, starting with shows on July 17 and 18.
While the singer originally started her residency this past July, she eventually postponed a number of shows to 2026 as she and her family dealt with Blackstock’s sickness and death.
