Breaking News: Francis Ford Coppola’s Personal ‘FFC’ Sells for $10.755 million, The Most Expensive F.P. Journe Ever Sold

There were multiple factors going in favor of this prototype piece from F.P. Journe. First, the model has become the most in-demand from the brand’s top VIPs, more so than the brand’s more complicated Astronomic. At least two people in the room, which was packed and overflowing with people standing in the back, were wearing their own FFC watches.
However, all the action was on the phone, and Journe collectors (of which there were two reserved rows) were left to record the action on their phones. This is also the only watch from F.P. Journe that isn’t formed around a design from Journe’s own imagination, representative of his friendship with Coppola. Finally, the watch, while not unique, was constructed by Journe’s own hands, and shows tool marks that otherwise wouldn’t exist on anything but a prototype.
