How Bengals’ Chase Brown can join Christian McCaffrey in NFL history with 100 yards vs. Bills

The Cincinnati Bengals are traveling up north to face the Buffalo Bills in a pivotal Week 14 matchup that has huge ramifications for the NFL playoffs.
With Joe Burrow, Tee Higgins, and Ja’Marr Chase all back together, Chase Brown has flown under the radar. But he has a chance to match some exclusive NFL history alongside Christian McCaffrey this week.
As ESPN Research highlighted before this Bengals-Bills matchup, with another 100-yard performance, Brown could join McCaffrey and Jonathan Taylor as the only players in the last half-decade with an impressive streak.
How Chase Brown can join Christian McCaffrey in exclusive NFL company with 100 yards vs. Bills
“Bengals RB Chase Brown has had a franchise-record six straight games with 100-plus scrimmage yards.” ESPN Research noted. “The only players with a longer streak in the past five seasons are the 49ers’ Christian McCaffrey (eight in 2023, seven this season) and the Colts’ Jonathan Taylor (seven in 2021).”
Brown has been a focal point of the Bengals’ offense lately, and he’s playing at a very high level at that. Coming into Week 14, he has six straight 100-plus yard games from scrimmage, and a seventh against the Bills would have him tied with Jonathan Taylor and right alongside McCaffrey for players across the last five seasons.
This streak began in Week 7, when Brown had 108 rushing yards and -8 receiving yards on Thursday Night Football. His scrimmage yard totals in the following weeks were 105 in Week 8, 112 in Week 9, 127 in Week 11, 130 in Week 12, and 112 in Week 13.

His involvement in the rushing and receiving game has allowed this streak to stay alive, as Brown, even if his team is down, can rack up yards on checkdowns and screens.
If Brown can record 100 more scrimmage yards against the Bills, who’ve struggled to contain running backs all year long, then he would become just the third player to record 100 yards in seven straight weeks in the last five years.
In this exciting Week 14 Bengals-Bills matchup, with superstars like Josh Allen, Joe Burrow, Ja’Marr Chase, and James Cook, the production of Brown will be something to keep a close eye on as he chases some exclusive NFL history.
