Tom Cruise may have his sights set on another actress a month after his split from Ana de Armas. A source told The National Enquirer in a report published in November that Cruise, 63, is interested in actress Sydney Sweeney, 28, after meeting her at the Governors Awards on November 16.
“He couldn’t wait to meet her in person and walked away raving about how gorgeous and impressive she was,” the insider said. The report comes after a video went viral of Cruise and Sweeney talking at the event. Lip reader Jacqui Press told The Daily Mail that the two seemed to be discussing injuries they had sustained during fight scenes. Sweeney recently starred as professional boxer Christy Martin in Christy, while Cruise is known for the Mission Impossible franchise.

The National Enquirer’s source also claimed that Cruise was aware Sweeney was dating music manager Scooter Braun but still exchanged numbers with the actress. According to the source, “Tom knows Sydney’s dating someone, so there’s no point in asking her out and risking embarrassment, but he’s pleased to have established a line of communication,” the insider said. “They’ve got each other’s phone numbers.”
The source also revealed that Cruise is interested in working with Sweeney professionally. “Tom’s hell bent on getting Sydney involved in some of his upcoming projects,” the insider said. “Sydney’s a hugely ambitious girl, so of course she’s interested and intrigued at the prospect of working with Tom but as is often the case, he definitely has an ulterior motive!”
Cruise and de Armas, 37, started dating in early 2025 after meeting on thet of the movie Deeper. News broke of their split in October, with sources claiming that de Armas was the one who “put the brakes” on their relationship. “Tom and Ana are done for now,” a source told Us Weekly at the time. “It was more Ana’s decision because things were moving fast and she started to get a little uncomfortable with how fast it was going.”
The insider continued, “She still likes him a lot, and they have a connection. They will see how things go in the future.”
A source also told The National Enquirer at the time that Cruise felt “used” by de Armas. “Ana suddenly went from red hot to ice cold,” the insider said. “Tom’s saying he feels used. It’s shaping up to be a messy split.” The source continued, “Tom took it hard and things kind of snowballed from there.”
The insider also claimed that Cruise felt “humiliated” by the split. “He’s upset that it’s all fallen apart and he’s having to face his big fear that he’s somehow undatable,” a source said. “She got swept up in the excitement of dating a huge movie star. But Tom’s need to be in control can be overwhelming, and eventually Ana started to feel suffocated.”
