Former Democratic congressman Colin Allred said Monday he is dropping out of the Senate race in Texas and will instead launch a bid for one of the new congressional districts formed by Republican-led redistricting in the state. The last-minute move is the latest to scramble Texas races ahead of a Monday evening deadline that candidates face for filing paperwork to run in 2026.
