‘Headphones Norm’: Tributes paid to Charlton fan Norman Baker

Tributes have been paid to a Charlton Athletic supporter who collapsed at Saturday’s match against Portsmouth at The Valley.
Norman Barker, 68, who had been attending games since 1968, was taken ill during the 12th minute of the game, receiving medical treatment in the lower tier of the north stand before being taken to hospital where he later died.
Known as “Headphones Norm”, he was presented with the supporter of the year accolade by first-team manager Nathan Jones in July.
In a tribute posted online, external the club said it was “devastated by the loss of one of its most loyal and recognisable faces” and expected to celebrate Mr Barker’s life before Tuesday’s game against Middlesbrough.
