Serie A Preview: Torino vs. Milan

Gameweek 14 of the Serie A will feature a fixture played at the Olimpico di Torino, contested by the home side Torino and visitors AC Milan. The match will kick off tonight.

Torino enter the game against the Rossoneri on the back of a five-game winless streak, the latest of which was suffered 2-1 in their last outing against Lecce. Having collected 14 points till now, this is Torino’s worst performance in the Serie A at this stage of the campaign.

A major area of hope for fans of the Granata will, however, be the team’s recent record at home against AC Milan. The Rossoneri have lost each of their last three fixtures played at the Olimpico di Torino.

The Rossoneri have now only the Serie A title to look forward to; Massimiliano Allegri’s men were knocked out of the Coppa Italia competition by SS Lazio. Having not qualified for European competitions for the current season, AC Milan can now shift their entire focus to the league, a competition in which they are currently on a 12-game unbeaten run.

The recent record of the Rossoneri against the Granata is also not one that is too bright; Milan have lost two of their last three fixtures contested the outfit from Turin. The defensive record will, however, definitely give hope of a strong performance to the fans of Milan; the team last got scored against in the Serie A back in early November.

AC Milan Serie A results:

Torino will not be able to field marksman Giovanni Someone, and the inclusion of Ardian Ismajli is also clouded in doubt. Ivan Ilic may be on the bench.

On the other hand, Milan will be devoid of the services of star players Youssouf Fofana, Santiago Gimenez and Zachary Athekame, who are ruled out owing to an abductor injury, ankle injury and calf injury, respectively.
