Bobby Shuttleworth named coach of A&M soccer

Less than 24 hours after Florida State soccer won the 2025 national championship, Texas A&M soccer hired associate head coach Bobby Shuttleworth as its next head coach. The Aggies’ appointment of Shuttleworth comes after their only coach in program history G Guerrieri announced his retirement on Oct. 28.

Shuttleworth spent the last four seasons on the Seminoles’ coaching staff, where they had an overall record of 70-7-12, the highest winning percentage in the country in that span. He also oversaw Florida State’s undefeated national championship winning team.

Before he arrived in Tallahassee, Florida, Shuttleworth enjoyed a 14-year career as a professional goalkeeper. Upon his retirement, Shuttleworth finished with 81 wins, 53 clean sheets and the 13th-most goalkeeper appearances in Major League Soccer history.

“We are very excited to welcome Bobby and his family to Aggieland and have him lead us in this new era of Texas A&M soccer,” Director of Athletics Trev Alberts said in a press release. “Bobby is a proven winner both as a coach and player with a track record of developing high-level talent. His strong leadership and competitive vision give him a great understanding of what it takes to be successful at this level. We are confident Bobby will elevate our program while supporting our student-athletes both athletically and academically.”
