Taye Diggs and Tamar Braxton Join Thriller ‘Stepfather’ for Footage Films and Tubi (Exclusive)

Footage Films’ thriller “Stepfather,” starring Taye Diggs and Tamar Braxton, has begun production in Los Angeles.

Diggs (“All American”) and Braxton (“The Braxtons”) headline the feature, with Chris Stokes directing and co-writing alongside Marques Houston. The duo also serve as executive producers.

Produced by Footage Films Studios, “Stepfather” is scheduled to premiere on Tubi in 2026.​

Diggs plays Darnell, a survivor of childhood abuse whose unresolved trauma turns into a twisted quest to recreate the perfect household he was once denied.

When Darnell’s new family doesn’t meet his ideal expectations, he takes charge by eliminating them to start the search again for his ideal family. Braxton plays his wife, Asia.
