Inside Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s cute Eras Tour phone calls

Taylor Swift reporter gives an inside look at the Eras Tour
Follow along as USA TODAY’s Taylor Swift reporter Bryan West concert hops across the globe to cover the Eras Tour.
Karma is the guy making two appearances in the opening episodes of Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour docuseries on Disney+.
Swift is practicing her surprise set songs in the car on the way to Wembley Stadium on Aug. 15, 2024, when Travis Kelce calls.
“Baby,” she chirps before explaining that she is going to rehearse with Ed Sheeran backstage.
“How are you guys so good?” he responds. “You can just do a little like in the backroom rehearsal and then go do this live in front of everyone.”
“I love you,” she says. “I don’t know how you remember 36,000 plays that are all tactical missions and then just go do it? It’s the same.”
The pair draw easy on parallels between their professions.
“I’ve got songs to remember, you have plays to remember,” Swift says. Kelce responds, “You’ve got teammates, I’ve got teammates.” Swift adds, “You’ve got Coach Reid. I’ve got my mom.”
They laugh.
“I want to be there,” he says before telling her he’ll scour the internet to watch the surprise songs.
“Thank you for making my life better,” he says and Swift replies, “I know, this was like some people get a vitamin drip. I got this conversation.”
The second call comes after Swift steps offstage following the first Wembley show. Still catching her breath, she tells him, “It went so great. I’m so happy.”
“Oh, I can hear it in your voice,” Kelce says. Swift adds that the crowd seemed to sense how much she needed the moment. “They were wilder than I’ve ever seen,” she says.
Notably, the first two of six episodes stop short of moments teased in the Eras Tour trailer. Andrea Swift’s line, “He brings a lot of happiness” does not yet appear, nor does footage of Kelce meeting Swift underneath the stage at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis on Nov. 2, 2024, or the two rehearsing him carrying her on stage at Wembley on June 23, 2024.
