TLC reality TV star dies at 62 after health complications

Pauline Potter, known for her time as a cast member on the TLC reality TV show “My 600-Lb Life,” has died at the age of 62.
Potter’s son, Dillon Brooks, shared the news on YouTube that his mother died on Thanksgiving Day due to complications from injuries sustained throughout the year.
The pair had been in a car accident in January, in which Potter suffered from broken ribs and a wounded leg.
“August 20 was the last time she was at home, and she has been in the hospital since then,” Brooks said in the video.
Following the crash, Potter was hospitalized over the summer due to a blockage in her esophagus and a battle with COVID-19. She continued facing health issues before she was transferred to a hospice facility in November after medical professionals told Brooks “there was nothing else they could do for her.”
Potter first became known after appearing on season 3 of “My 600-Lb Life,” where she documented her weight-loss journey. At one point, she held a Guinness World Record for being the world’s heaviest living woman at more than 640 pounds, according to USA Today.
She continued to share her weight-loss journey online, and in 2020, she shared in a post on Facebook that she was down to 223 pounds.
