Navy Beats Army as CFB Fans React to Historic Rivalry Game’s Exciting Finish

Blake Horvath and the Navy Midshipmen took an adventurous route to their victory over the Army Black Knights.
Horvath battled through two fourth-quarter fumbles to help lead Navy to a 17-16 victory.
The first fumble occurred on a 2nd-and-Goal with Navy down by six points. Horvath recovered with a touchdown pass on fourth down.
Horvath fumbled again as Navy was attempting to close out the game. He recovered his own fumble and was ruled down by contact. Navy went on to seal the victory.
Army scored 13 of its 16 points in the second quarter. The Black Knights were up 16-7 in the third, but could not hold on to the advantage.
The win gave Navy its first winning streak in the rivalry in a decade. It was also the Midshipmen’s 10th win.
Both Army and Navy have a bowl game left to play. Navy will go for its 11th win in the Liberty Bowl on January 2 against the Cincinnati Bearcats. Army faces the UConn Huskies in the Fenway Bowl on December 27.
