Police ID woman found dead inside freezer at Miami Dollar Tree

MIAMI — A woman was found dead inside a freezer at a Dollar Tree store in Miami on Sunday morning, police confirmed.

Miami police responded to the store, located at 968 SW Eighth St., at approximately 8 a.m. after an employee discovered the body.

Investigators identified the woman on Sunday afternoon as 32-year-old Massiell Garay Sanchez.

Police say Garay Sanchez entered the store on her own the night before, but did not make any purchases.

Investigators believe she made her way to a restricted employee-only area, where the freezer is located, and remained there overnight. Her body was found unresponsive by employees who returned to the area the following morning.

Police have confirmed that Garay Sanchez was not an employee of the store.

Officers say the circumstances surrounding her death are still under investigation, though they have ruled out foul play, stating that she was not forced into the freezer.
