Bulloch County faced another devastating loss on Wednesday as a collision at the intersection of Ash Branch Church Road and GA-46 where one drive died. Georgia State Patrol is investigating the crash.

For the second time today, a fatal crash has claimed a life on Bulloch County roadways. A collision at the intersection of Ash Branch Church Road and Georgia Highway 46 left one driver dead and sent another to the hospital Wednesday afternoon, December 10, 2025.

The first 911 call came in at 3:28 p.m. According to the Georgia State Patrol, a Kia Forte traveling north on Ash Branch Church Road failed to yield to a Ford Explorer traveling west on GA-46. The Explorer struck the Kia, forcing both vehicles off the roadway.

After leaving the roadway, the Kia collided with a Georgia Power utility pole and overturned. The female driver of the Kia, a Florida resident, died at the scene. Because next-of-kin notification has not yet been completed, authorities have not released the victim’s name. The Florida Highway Patrol has been contacted to assist with notifications.

Bulloch County Coroner Chuck Francis responded to the scene along with Georgia Power crews, who are working to replace the damaged pole. At the time of this story the roadway remains closed as troopers, power crews, and investigators continue their work.

The driver of the Ford Explorer suffered a head injury and was transported to Memorial Health in Savannah, where officials say the individual is stable.

The Georgia State Patrol’s Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team (SCRT) is assisting in investigating the crash. Any potential charges will depend on their final report. GSP Post 45 TFC McCarty and TFC Holloway are the primary troopers handling the scene.

This marks the second fatal crash reported in Bulloch County today, intensifying concerns as investigators urge motorists to use caution on local roads.
