From the Desk of Terry Mohajir: Revenue Share/NIL Overview Update – UCF Athletics

Knight Nation,
With the House settlement taking full effect this year, universities across the country can now share up to $20.5 million (increasing 4% annually) with student-athletes. This marks a historic shift in how institutions support the young men and women who represent them on the field, in the classroom, and in our community.
In March, UCF took a bold step forward by launching the Competitive Success Fund, a revenue-sharing initiative within the ChargeOn Fund created to strengthen our department’s ability to recruit, retain, and develop elite student-athletes.
Thanks to the tremendous generosity of Knight Nation, along with enhanced revenues from ticketing, sponsorship and the Big 12, UCF was able to make the departmental decision to fully fund the maximum amount allowed under the House settlement guidelines for 2025-26 while also providing expanded scholarship support for Olympic Sports, ensuring comprehensive investment across all sports. UCF athletics remains committed to fully funding rev share at the maximum allowable level for 2026-27.
Your continued commitment through recurring donations to the Competitive Success Fund is critical to sustaining this level of support. Fully funding the maximum amount each year requires collective dedication, and we are incredibly grateful for every donor who makes that possible.
While department-generated support is essential, we know in order to maximize our opportunities at the highest level, we must continue to build on the strength of Knight Nation and Orlando’s business community. Together, we can elevate our programs even further.
Beyond the capped $20.5 million that UCF can provide in institutional support, student-athletes also have the opportunity to earn third-party NIL compensation above the cap, subject to College Sports Commission approval. These opportunities allow them to partner with companies, brands, and organizations to build their personal platforms and maximize their earning potential off the field.
How Businesses Can Get Involved:
Orlando’s business community plays an important role in expanding NIL opportunities for UCF student-athletes. Your company can join over 50 partners like Orlando Health, NOBULL, Addition Financial, Carl Black and Miller’s Ale House that have already connected with UCF Athletics and our student-athletes to create sponsorships, digital content, appearances, and fan-focused campaigns.
Our goal is to welcome 50 additional corporate partners into our network to advance the future of UCF Athletics while aligning with your business strategy across three key tracks:
- Corporate Partnership- Becoming a corporate partner through UCF Sports Properties provides access to powerful marketing platforms for your brand message through UCF athletics gameday assets and multimedia platforms. A corporate partnership paired with an NIL deal enables you to amplify your brand’s exposure by leveraging both UCF and athlete assets.
- Corporate Donor – Includes tailored philanthropic opportunities for corporate partners looking for community impact or brand visibility through NIL. Members can receive enhanced access to tickets, parking, special events, and the chance to directly support student-athletes.
- Athlete partnership – We can connect you directly to a student-athlete to engage through true, third-party NIL opportunities (subject to approval via CSC/NIL Go).
Third-party NIL can play a huge role in shaping programs over the next decade. UCF has a unique position to lead nationally, thanks to Orlando’s global business community, our innovative university environment, and our growing national profile. We invite your business to consider one or a hybrid of all three of these avenues to provide meaningful ways for businesses to elevate UCF Athletics while aligning their brands with the energy of Knight Nation. Please complete this interest form and a staff member will be in contact with you.
Knight Nation has always been our greatest competitive advantage: bold, innovative, and ready to Charge On. Thank you for believing and supporting our mission, for your commitment to our student-athletes, and for investing in the future of UCF Athletics.
Go Knights, Charge On!
Terry Mohajir, Vice President and Director of Athletics
