The Air Jordan 11 ‘Gamma’ Had the Second-biggest Release Day Ever on StockX

There was no question that the Air Jordan 11 Retro “Gamma” would be one of the top-selling sneakers of the year, but the early numbers may exceed even the loftiest of expectations.
According to data shared by StockX, the 2025 Air Jordan 11 Retro Gamma has the second-best release day performance ever on the platform. This data is measured by number of transactions for the shoe on release day, meaning only one other sneaker has had more individual sales on the day of launch: the 2021 Air Jordan 11 Cool Gray. Coming in at number three on StockX’s top release day performers is 2020’s Air Jordan 11 Jubilee.
There are a few factors at play contributing to the Air Jordan 11 Retro Gamma’s secondary market success. Michael Jordan’s patent leather-clad 11th signature model has always been one of the most popular in the Air Jordan franchise, as evident by the other pairs which make up StockX’s top release day performers. The Gamma pair has an added layer of appeal in that it was the first-ever reissue for the colorway, which originally debuted in 2013.

But another contributing element is the sheer number of Air Jordan 11s produced. Although Nike, Inc. doesn’t disclose official production numbers, it’s been suggested that over 1 million pairs have been produced in some of the sneaker’s most in-demand styles.
The Air Jordan 11 has been frequently cited in Nike earnings calls as breaking records for the biggest Nike releases ever. In a 2017 Q3 call, the model’s “Space Jam” colorway was referred to as the “largest and most successful shoe launch in the history of Nike.” And in Nike, Inc.’s 2020 Q3 report, the 2019 Air Jordan 11 “Bred” was once called the largest in Nike history.
As for this year’s first-ever Gamma rerelease, it’s currently reselling for an average price of around $350. It was released at retail on Dec. 13 for a retail price of $235 and sold out quickly from nearly every global stockist.
